    Campus News: The Week of May 25

    Meera Prajith of Kennesaw was among the over 465 graduates who earned master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Scranton’s graduate commencement ceremony on May 19. Prajith earned a Master of Accountancy degree in accounting analytics.On May 10, the following local students were among the over 300 Piedmont University graduates: Tyler Roon of Acworth; Sarah Brooks, Michaela Hicks, Hayleigh James, Kelvin Lopez and Susan Munoz, all of Kennesaw; Owen Helgesen, Eric Penland and Schuylar Willis, all of Marietta; Monica Gambrell and Jack Gilsenan, both of Powder Springs; and Lyndsey Klempay of Smyrna.Terrell Ard of Acworth was among the 557 students who earned Dean's list honors for the spring 2024 semester at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland.Nikolaus Kane of Marietta was named to the Dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee.Brittney Canty of Powder Springs graduated from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee at the conclusion of the spring semester. Canty received a master’s degree in Business Administration.Ali Al Ashur of the Cumberland area graduated from Kirkwood Community College during a commencement ceremony on May 11 at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ashur received an associate’s degree in Applied Science.Anita Enyonam Blege of Marietta /earned a master's degree in Data Analytics from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.Shorter University announced the following local students received degrees during the 2023-2024 academic year on May 2 in the Winthrop-King Centre on the university’s Rome campus: Acworth residents – Shawnee Gonzalez, Master of Arts in Teaching; Grace Irungu, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Peyton Moseley, Bachelor of Business Administration; and Anne Smith, Bachelor of Business Administration. Cumberland area resident – Cornell Washington, Master of Business Administration. Kennesaw residents – Blake Baldwin, Bachelor of Arts; Kathryn Bywaters, Bachelor of Science; James Craig, Master of Management; Erica Duncan, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Richard Sapp, Bachelor of Science; and Madeline Walter, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mableton resident – Kaamilya Duling, Bachelor of Business Administration. Marietta residents – Janie Brothers, Bachelor of Science; Joshua Greene, Bachelor of Science; Kobe Jones, Bachelor of Business Administration; Daisy Rodriguez, Master of Business Administration; and Rebeka Tuple, Bachelor of Arts. Smyrna resident – Jessica Moshell, Master of Arts in Teaching.The following local Trine University students completed degrees at the end of the spring 2024 semester: Safwan Hussain Mohammed of Austell, earned a degree in Master of Science in Engineering Management. Xiaotian Wang of Marietta, earned a degree in Master of Science in Business Analytics. Xueke Chen of Smyrna, earned a degree in Master of Business Administration.The following local residents made the spring 2024 Academic Achievement list at Georgia Southwestern State University: Dorothy Taylor of Mableton; and Kenneth Nunnally and Yingjie Ray, both of Marietta.The following Marietta residents made the spring 2024 Dean's list at Georgia Southwestern State University: Sabaina Dura, Sage Jones and Joseph Kostigen.The following Powder Springs residents made the spring 2024 President's list at Georgia Southwestern State University: Ekemini Andrews and Jeffrey Onwusibe.
