Marietta Gallery Celebrates 50th Anniversary Milestone

Frameworks Gallery, 1205 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 110 in Marietta, announced that it is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The gallery is a female-founded, family-owned and operated business that has been meeting the fine art and custom framing needs of metro Atlanta since 1974.

“After I had my first son, I decided I wanted to find a way to make a living on my own and not go back to work for a big company. Back then it was not as common for a young woman to start her own business as it is today, but I knew it was right for me and my family,” said founder Diane Spencer.

“I knew something about framing and decided to start with that operating out of my basement. Eventually my sisters joined me, and we expanded and grew operating out of several locations in Cobb County over the years, leading us to our current gallery space on Johnson Ferry Road in East Cobb where we have been for the past 20 years,” Spencer said. “Today that baby I started the business to take care of is my 50-year-old son, Davis, who runs our framing operation. So, Frameworks is still a family business, and we consider our customers and artists all part of our family.”

As part of a year-long celebration of their golden anniversary, Frameworks will host “Symphony of Colors.” This special show features four artists who Frameworks has represented over many years - Marsha Savage, Pat Fiorello, Barbara Royal and Judie Jacobs. The styles of the artists range from realism to abstract and they have been recognized with numerous awards for their paintings.

The show will run from Sept. 12 to Oct. 18. There will be an opening reception on Sept. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.
