Woman Accused of Butcher Knife Attack at Motel 6
Madison Jackson, 19, of Marietta, is accused of slashing a person's forearm with a butcher knife, causing a laceration, on July 8 at the Delk Road Motel 6 in Marietta. A juvenile who was about four feet away in the motel room witnessed the incident, according to an arrest warrant from the Marietta Police Department. Jackson is charged with aggravated assault weapon; and cruelty to children – third degree. She was arrested on July 8 at 3 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. Jackson remains in custody, without bond and on a hold from the Byron Police Department.

Public health agencies are investigating cases of illness after dozens of victims consumed Diamond Shruumz-brand chocolate bars, infused cones and gummies. ATHENS -- The University of Georgia Plant Center is a collection of faculty and scientists from across multiple campuses who share common interests in plant science. 16-year-old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run
A 16-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a car on State Route 360 Saturday night, the Cobb Police Department reports. Police say the driver of the vehicle drove off. The minor was walking in the right lane of State Route 360 at the intersection of Cunningham Road at 11 p.m. when he was struck by a red Hyundai Santa Fe, police report. Shortly after striking the minor, police say the driver fled the scene. The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Marietta Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck by Car
A Marietta man was seriously injured after being struck by a car in east Cobb Sunday afternoon. William Cahill, 32, of Marietta, was attempting to cross Woodlawn Drive near the Woodlawn Square Shopping Center when he was struck by a maroon 2005 Toyota RAV4 at about 12:54 p.m., according to the Cobb Police Department. Police say the driver, Vickie Morrisett, 62, of Marietta, was heading southbound on Woodlawn Drive as Cahill was attempting to cross outside a crosswalk from the west side of the street. Cahill suffered serious injuries and was transported to Kennestone Hospital by ambulance. Morrisett was uninjured. Three People Charged in Death of Woman Last Seen in East Cobb
Cobb Police say three people have been charged in relation to the death of a woman who was last seen in east Cobb. Warrants for Allen Kerr, 32, Sean Deshazer, 26, and Jasmine Craig, 27, were issued on June 27, according to police.
