Heartbreaking! Doctor And Mother Of 2 Found Stabbed To Death In Apartment: ‘We’re Just In Total Shock’

Dr. Samantha Woolery, 42, an esteemed medical professional in Atlanta and an incoming surgical resident at Morehouse School of Medicine, was found brutally murdered in her Marietta apartment over Father’s Day weekend.

Known for her kind spirit and exceptional ability to connect with others, Woolery was set to begin her categorical residency.

A loving mother of two, Woolery’s body was discovered by co-workers after she failed to show up for work, according to various reports on the incident.

Marietta police were alerted and launched a homicide investigation on Sunday morning. Marietta Police Public Information Officer Chuck McPhilamy stated:

“She did have some obvious wounds to her body.”

Despite the visible injuries, the coroner has not yet released an official cause of death.

The discovery of Woolery’s body in her apartment at Lakeside at Town Center Apartments shocked the community. The door to her apartment was found closed but unlocked.

Mfoniso Ekpo, Woolery’s best friend, expressed her devastation over the loss.

“How am I breathing, and she’s not breathing?” Ekpo said. “It made no sense. I talked to her, just last week.”

On Monday, June 17, 2024, police in Carmel, Indiana, announced the arrest of 49-year-old Mickey Anthony Woolery, Dr. Samantha Woolery’s estranged ex-husband. He was found after fleeing Georgia and is now charged with felony murder, felony aggravated assault, felony aggravated battery, felony possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, and felony malice murder.

Woolery’s sister, Tamika Jones, expressed disbelief over the incident.

“We’re just in total shock,” Jones said. “We just couldn’t believe that this…that he would have done this. Like, no way.”

Jones mentioned that there were no signs of domestic abuse in her sister’s former marriage or any relationship afterwards.

Dr. Samantha Woolery began her career as a nurse and had dreams of becoming a doctor. She recently graduated from Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and was completing her residency at Morehouse School of Medicine.

Police are continuing their investigation into the murder.
