The Cobb County Water System reported an estimated 410 gallon wastewater sewer overflow occurred on June 27.

The overflow, resulting from rags, occurred at 1150 Colony Circle NE in Marietta and discharged into a tributary to Timber Ridge Branch.

The Water System was notified of the overflow on June 27 at 6:11 p.m. and the overflow was stopped on June 27 at 7:20 p.m.

Water System employees upon arrival observed a manhole spilling with the lid secured. The escaping sewage left a two-foot by 12-foot trail, entering the tributary. After using a jet machine to unstop the line, the crew spread lime on the affected area. During their time on site, the crew did not observe any fish kills.

For more information, call the Cobb County Water System’s Maintenance Division at 770-419-6351.
