School’s out for the summer, but Cobb educators are keeping the excitement alive as they prepare for another successful year.

Walton High School recently buzzed with energy as educators from across the district flocked to the Cobb Schools In It to Win It summer conference.

This annual event, a favorite among pre-K through 12th grade educators, is co-hosted by the Academic and Instructional Technology divisions. Providing a perfect mix of fun and professional growth, hundreds of teachers and principals attended, reflecting their dedication to student success and their love for learning.

Dr. Ashley Kennedy beamed as she captured the spirit of the professional learning event: “The In It to Win It postseason conference is all about inspiring, impacting and influencing our district's educators. This is the perfect time of the year, even though it's the summer, to bring educators together to think about their teaching practices.”

The Cobb Schools Director of Instruction and Innovative Practice also highlighted the importance of integrating technology into education.

“We understand the value of teachers spending time reflecting on their current instructional practices, while also considering how instructional technology enhances the student learning experience,” Dr. Kennedy added.

The blend of instructional technology with academic content was a highlight of the conference.

The director of the Cobb Schools Instructional Technology team, Dr. Starla Townsend, could not hide her excitement: “There's magic when instructional technology blends with our academic content. When fused, we help our students engage with the technology and the academic pieces. We know through research and working with teachers that this is a wonderful way to make curriculum come alive. We know that when our students leave us, they'll be academically and technologically ready for success.”

Educators consistently rate the In It to Win It conference as one of their favorite professional development events. The camaraderie, innovative sessions and the sheer joy of learning together make it an unforgettable experience each year.

For Cobb educators, the conference isn’t just about preparing for the new school year—it’s a celebration of their passion for teaching and their commitment to student success.
