Marietta Man Charged with Vehicular Homicide

Daniel Hunt, 28, of Marietta, is accused of operating a maroon/brown 2019 Ram 1500 Classic in a reckless manner that caused a crash with the victim’s vehicle on June 20 at 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Barrett Parkway and Village Greene in Marietta. Hunt is also accused of doing 68 mph in a 45 mph zone, which was too fast for the evening traffic and limited visibility caused by the curves in the road, according to an arrest warrant from the Marietta Police Department.

The victim suffered a brain bleed, broken and fractured vertebrae and neurological damage. They remained hospitalized until they died on July 3, according to the warrant.

Hunt is charged with driving – too fast for conditions; reckless driving; and homicide by vehicle – first degree. He was arrested on July 11 at 9:59 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records.

Hunt remains in custody without bond.
