McCleskey Middle School Band Wins Award

The McCleskey Middle School Band Program, under the direction of Andrew Paller and Patrick Clark, has been awarded the Georgia Music Educators Association Exemplary Performance Award for 2024.

The Exemplary Performance Award recognizes outstanding school performing ensembles whose students excel in all areas of performance sponsored by GMEA. These areas include Large Group Performance Evaluation, Solo and Ensemble Performance Evaluation, Jazz Ensemble Performance Evaluation, All State Band Participation and District Honor Band Participation. The Exemplary Performance Award is the most prestigious award a middle school music program can be recognized with in the state of Georgia.

The McCleskey Middle School Band will be presented with this award by a GMEA board representative during a 2024 Fall Concert.

The McCleskey Middle School 8th Grade Symphonic Band was a featured Ensemble at the 2023 Reinhardt University Honor Band Clinic and is an invited ensemble for the 2025 Music for All Southeastern Region Concert Festival that will be held at the Rialto Center for the Arts on the campus of Georgia State University in March.
