Marinette County tax installments are due July 31

MARINETTE — Marinette County Treasurer Bev Noffke reminds Marinette County property owners that the second installment of the 2023 real estate property taxes is due on or before July 31.

All Marinette County postponed and delinquent real estate property taxes are payable to the Marinette County Treasurer. Any payments by mail should be sent to 1926 Hall Ave., Marinette, WI 54143-1717. If making tax payments in person please note that the Treasurer’s office is located in the building directly behind the original Courthouse, now known as the County Resource Center, at 1925 Ella Court. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m , Monday through Friday. To avoid delays and insure accuracy, tax bill stubs or tax parcel numbers should be included with all tax payments. If paying by mail, a self-addressed stamped envelope should be included if a receipt is desired.

Payments can also be made at the Peshtigo National Bank in Peshtigo.

Tax payments by credit card, debit card & e-check can be done on Marinette County’s website, www.marinettecountywi.gov. Information on how to pay on- line can be found by clicking on “Departments” then “Treasurer” then “Quick Links” and then choosing “Guide to Using Online Payments” note that the fee for an e-check payment is $0.25 and the fee for a credit or debit card payment is 2.20% of the amount being paid.

The cost of missing the final tax installment deadline is severe. Per Wisconsin State Statutes, any property taxes not paid on time, will be considered delinquent, and interest goes back to February. Therefore, interest of seven percent (7%) will be charged in August, and one percent (1%) per month thereafter until they are paid in full.
