Sundance Realty Holding a Marion County Humane Society Adoption Drive
Sundance Realty in Knoxville is holding a Marion County Humane Society adoption drive. The local humane society is currently at capacity and is no longer able to take any more animals. For this reason, Sundance Realty is holding the adoption drive, where they will match every dollar raised up to $750, and all funds will go toward sponsoring adoption fees. Currently, adoption costs at the Humane Society are $200 for puppies, $175 for dogs, $70 for kittens, and $50 for cats. Sundance Realty will take cash, check, or Venmo for the adoption drive through Saturday.

Marion County Board of Supervisors to Meet Tomorrow
The Marion County Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session Tuesday. On the agenda is a proclamation honoring Andrew Meyers and discussion and possible action regarding a memorial for Meyers on the courthouse grounds. Also on the agenda is a public hearing and resolutions for budget amendments, receiving and filing the FY23 Marion County audit, discussion and possible action for a City of Knoxville Veterans District concept plan, five different road department resolutions, discussion and possible action for a courthouse closure due to a power distribution upgrade, and an engagement agreement for counsel. The meeting will conclude with discussion and possible action regarding an extension agreement between the City of Pella, Pella Community School District and Marion County regarding EPCON Residential URA.
2024 Marion County Fair Royalty Crowned Saturday Night
The 2024 Marion County Fair royalty was crowned Saturday night at a ceremony inside Dyer Hudson Hall. Selected to be the 2024 Fair Queen was Marley Larson of Knoxville, while Dillion Hall from Knoxville was chosen as the inaugural Fair King and Aliana Pearson of Knoxville was selected as the Jr. Princess. At the ceremony Saturday night each contestant was asked a question unique to their interest and then a question that was identical to the other contestants in their category. The winners received their crowns and sashes from last year’s fair queen Carly Cox and Jr. Princess Lauren Boelling. Newly crowned fair queen Marley Larson says she wants to be the positive role model that other queens have been for her.
