ISP: I-70 EB crash kills girl; 4 others injured
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police are investigating a crash that killed a juvenile girl and injured four others on I-70 eastbound Thursday night. According to public police records, ISP troopers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to the scene of a fatal crash between Meridian Street and Madison Avenue. ISP said the collision seriously injured five people, two adults and three children.

The Indiana Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting for a southside U.S. 31 sidewalk project next month. The proposed project will install Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalks and curb ramps on both sides of U.S. 31 from County Line Road to Thompson Road in Johnson and Marion Counties. 7-year-old girl killed in crash on I-70 in downtown Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS — A 7-year-old girl died and four more people were injured after crash Thursday evening on a busy downtown Indianapolis highway. Investigators with Indiana State Police believe a van with two adults and three children inside became disabled in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70, just west of the South Split, around 8:30 p.m. June 27. The van's driver may have stopped because of a flat tire, and police say the left shoulder at that section of interstate is not wide enough to safely pull over.
Indy bridge closes due to erosion, plans to open in September
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works closed the McGregor Road bridge over Buck Creek on the southeast side of Marion County on Thursday. According to DPW, engineers are closing the road due to soil erosion near the bridge approaches. Although the bridge is classified as structurally sound and supportive of traffic, work on and near the approach slabs needs to be addressed.
