Aces of Trades: Growing Marion business is about 'family, friendly, fun' for the McGeorges

    By Drew Bracken,

Growing up he wanted to be a police officer. She wanted to be a nurse. But they never dreamed of their current business “until it started.”

They’re Phillip and Amy McGeorge, founders and co-owners of Presidential Inflatables & More.

“Our business was started by complete accident,” Phillip McGeorge said.

“It was never a huge idea brewing up until the day it started,” Amy McGeorge agreed. “Our first bounce house was never purchased with the intention of renting it. We purchased the first bounce house for our youngest son, and from there family and friends asked to rent that unit. We started to build our inventory and eventually became the known brand everyone sees today.”

Both Amy and Phillip McGeorge grew up in Marion and both graduated from Harding High School, Amy in 1990 and Phillip in 1991.

Both have college degrees from MTC and Phil McGeorge has a bachelor’s from Mount Vernon Nazarene and Amy McGeorge has her degree from American Military University.

Phillip McGeorge is retired military and was with the Columbus Police Department.

Aside from Presidential Inflatables, Amy McGeorge is employed full-time in human resource management.

The company’s day-to-day operations are run by Amy McGeorge and their son, Evan.

“This business has allowed our family to be involved and grow,” said Amy McGeorge said.\

'Lots of big ideas' for 'go-to' source of local entertainment

“Presidential Inflatables & More is a family owned and operated company,” noted Phillip McGeorge. “Our family takes pride in the opportunity to service our area and all of Central Ohio. We really want to stress our goal is always safety, customer service and cleanliness.”

“We do what we do because it brings smiles to faces,” Amy McGeorge added. “We dove into this business headfirst with the goal of exactly our slogan, ‘family, friendly, fun!’ Our goal is to make family fun not only a possibility financially, but also to make anyone’s day as stress-free as possible by doing all the work and allowing the people to just enjoy their time.”

“Our family is full of strong work ethics and are never ‘comfortable or content,’” Phillip McGeorge said. “We’re always growing and are happy with where the business is going currently. In the future we have lots of big ideas and are excited to become a large part of Marion. We’re excited to have the opportunity to become the go-to source for entertainment for Marion County and the surrounding area.”
