    Marion teen competes if first amateur boxing contest, meets Buster Douglas at State Fair

    Ezekiel Clark, 15, a member of the Marion Area Boxing Club boxed Thursday at the Ohio State Fair.

    Clark lost the match to his opponent, Michael Higgins, who had a 10-1 record.

    Following the fight, his opponent was surprised this was Clark’s first amateur fight.

    Clark got to meet Buster Douglas, a former heavyweight champion, according to the club's Facebook page .

    Douglas competed between 1981 and 1999, and reigned as the heavyweight champion in 1990 after knocking out Mike Tyson.

    Clark practices in Marion at the Be Ministry building on East Church Street. His coaches are Martin Jones, Jamie Mullins, and Sean Rogers.

    The State Fair competition is held under sanction of the Ohio Association of United States Amateur Boxing.
