Frozen cocktails, push pops and beach snacks
After more than a year in the works, Westport frozen cocktail bar Frost plans to open by October just as the weather also starts to turn frosty. In the 2,400-square-foot former Julep cocktail lounge space (4141 Pennsylvania Ave.), Frost will offer frozen drink classics such as pina coladas, daiquiris and margaritas; seasonal frozen drinks and collaborations with local companies such distilleries and wineries; and frozen mocktails. It also will have beer and wine.
Aldermen hear request to lower lot size
The Marionville Board of Alderman met Thursday, Aug. 8, to a full crowd of concerned citizens interested in the zoning question posed by a would-be developer. Mayor Dale Blankenship called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., with the following aldermen present: Joanne Lawrence, Kathy Urschel, Kevin Bliss, Angie Norris and Sue Motley.
Virtual program on knife-sharpening tips Aug. 17

People can get information on how to sharpen their hunting knives at the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) program “Learning to Hunt: Blade Sharpening.” This program will be 9-11 a.m. on Aug. 17 at MDC’s Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center and will have virtual and in-person options for attendance. Mizzou football stays sharp as Week 1 inches closer

Recalling Jordan Walker to just platoon was a bad decision by the Cardinals
After veteran infielder Matt Carpenter was placed on the Injured List this past Monday, former top prospect Jordan Walker was recalled.
