    2023-03-20

Have you obtained the details on the program?

If you live in Austin, you must have an idea that it is an expensive city. For a low-income single family, it can be really tough to get a property on rent at reasonable prices.

According to a report published by a news outlet, Austin is a place where a single-family rental home is 40 percent more expensive than an apartment elsewhere.

Thankfully, Texas does offer a couple of relief programs for struggling families. If you haven't heard about them, here are a couple of examples.

    1. Veteran Homebuying Program
    2. Meals on Wheels Program
    3. Texas Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program

There are hundreds to thousands of people in Austin who struggle to pay the rent. If you are one of them, it would be great to get financial assistance. The good news is that you can apply for the Rent Relief Program.

It is basically a state-level program that aims to help households pay their rent for a specific time. Nearly 300,000 Texas residents have already received help and millions of dollars are still available, which means the application can be submitted right away. (Source)

Where the money can be used?

Up to $4,600 a month is offered. The funds available for each qualified tenant can be used for up to 18 months, and for the following things or purposes.
