Arrest made in shooting death of Pineville man, police report
A Natchitoches man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that killed a man Wednesday afternoon on Lee Street in Pineville, according to a Pineville Police Department news release. He is being held without bond at the Rapides Detention Center. A Pineville man with a gunshot wound was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, the release said. Two Suspects Arrested in Alexandria for Vehicle Burglary
Alexandria, La - On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 2:50 AM the Alexandria Police Department responded to the 5400 block of Provine Place in reference to two individuals suspected of breaking into vehicles. Responding officers located the two suspected burglars and detained them. Officers subsequently arrested 20-year-old Demond Anders of Baton Rouge LA and 22-year-old Jakobi Nicholas of Baker LA with one count of Vehicle Burglary. Stolen items from the vehicle burglary were found in their possession.
Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled for Lafourche Parish
Louisiana State Police Troop C, in partnership with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and Thibodaux Police Department, plans to conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Lafourche Parish. This goal of this operation is to identify and remove impaired drivers from the roads before they cause injury or death to themselves or others.
