With warm weather finally arriving all over the United States (and the first official day of summer just a couple of weeks away), many of us are starting to spend more and more time outside. I'm so excited to have the sunshine back, especially now that it's not getting dark out until much later — I know I'm not alone in saying that I'm in a much better mood when the sun is out and it's warm every time I step outside of my house. Whether I'm traveling or at home, I want to be outside!

It's a good time to start exploring the more unique areas of the country that might have been too cold to visit just a couple of months ago, and if you live in the New England area, a really cool new boardwalk has opened that you might want to check out.

Boston outlet @wbztv recently shared this footage of a floating walkway that just opened at Lake Williams in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Spanning 3,000 feet, the boardwalk was built using $1.7 million in pandemic stimulus money and is fully accessible, including to those using mobility devices, so everyone can enjoy it while they're getting outside this summer.

According to the report, Lake Williams used to be off limits to residents since it was the body of water they depended on for their drinking supply, but this unique walkway has allowed people to finally start enjoying it. It's a good thing, too, because from what I can tell in this video, it's gorgeous!

More About the New Walkway in Marlborough, MA

CBS News shared that the walkway is actually a two mile loop that connects to a nearby trail, which allows visitors to take a solid walk while they're there and experience something truly unique. One visitor described it as having a "bounce" to it as you walk across the boards.

There are a few rules around the way the boardwalk can be used, due to just how truly unique it is — for example, no bikes or animals are allowed, so make sure you leave your dog at home when you visit.

If you live in the area or plan on visiting, you may want to check it out this summer. It looks like a fun place to get your steps in while enjoying the view!
