MARLIN, Texas (FOX 44) – UPDATE: The City of Marlin has moved from Stage 4 to Stage 2 of its Drainage Contingency Plan. The boil water notice for the city has also been rescinded.

The city says the move to Stage 2 comes due to the hard work and dedication of its Public Works and Water Plant teams.

This comes after the ongoing boil water notice was rescinded on July 16. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) originally required the City of Marlin public water system, PWS0730002, to issue a Boil Water Notice on July 6. This was done to inform customers, individuals and employees that water from its public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system took the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system and provided TCEQ with lab test results indicating the water no longer requires boiling prior to use, as of July 16.

In addition, the city thanked the community for its patience during the search for broken water lines and repairing them. The towers are now full, 18 dead end hydrants were flushed and the state approved lab says the water samples grabbed were good.
