Guard Kaiden White latest addition to Marshall hoops roster
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — First-year Marshall men’s basketball coach Cornelius Jackson continues to look to add depth to the Herd roster, particularly in the backcourt. The latest addition is Kaiden White, a 6-foot-4 native of Orlando, Florida. White became a recent member of the Marshall roster after wrapping up his prep career last winter at Orlando’s Olympia High School.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Tuesday’s late day high temperatures made the mid- to upper 90s across the region including at the Lawrence County fairgrounds in Proctorville. Credible reports over 100 degrees were received from many coalfield towns with Logan leading the way. Afternoon highs at the 84 Lumber Yard and Addison Addition in Logan confirmed the triple-digit heat.
Belpre man recovering from shark bite
BELPRE — A shark put the bite on a Belpre man during a recent Florida trip. Connor Baker, 21, of Belpre, is back home recovering after an encounter with a shark on July 4 while in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., that left him with four severed tendons in his right foot.

Final sentencing in Wesley Hook murder case
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - From missing to murdered, the disappearance and death of Wesley Hook has left his family waiting for justice four years later. Hook went missing in June 2020 from Pikeville at the age of 30. His remains were found burned in his car the next month. Since then, Krystle Williams and Eric Deleon- two of the people convicted for roles in his kidnaping and death- have been sentenced to time in prison.

Desmond Clark's 2008 murder of his 19-year-old girlfriend Na'lisha Gravely shocked Charleston. Clark shot the woman six times after chasing her into a Taco Bell location in the city’s West Side.
West Virginia retailer closing after more than 100 years
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Pugh Furniture here is closing after more than 100 years of business according to reports from WCHS TV. The family-owned retailer has been in business since 1917, originally as a wholesaler. It transitioned into retail in the 1970s. Owner Beth Pugh told WCHS that she’s nearing retirement age, which led to the decision to close the store. Rising costs also played a role.
