Northern Michigan men's basketball sophomore guard Max Weisbrod has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First Team along with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District First Team while redshirt sophomore Dylan Kuehl earned a spot on the NABC All-District Second Team.

It was reported on the NMU web site.

Weisbrod received First Team regional honors from both the D2CCA and NABC. After earning GLIAC Freshman of the Year last season, Weisbrod followed it up with GLIAC Player of the Year recognition in year two. He was just the fourth Wildcat to be named conference Player of the Year and the first since Cory Brathol in 2000.

The Green and Gold point guard finished out the season at 17.2 points/game and 4.4 assists/game. He was 84-215 (39.1%) from three and 105-130 (80.8%) from the charity stripe. Weisbrod also had an impressive 2.13 assist to turnover ratio, a top-25 mark in Division II for those with as many assists as Max. In 15 conference games played, he averaged 19.1 points/game including 21.8/game over the final 11 to help the 'Cats clinch the regular season title. He recorded 24 games in double figures over the 2023-24 campaign. In those 24, he notched 20+ in 12, 25+ in five, and over 30 twice, including a career-high 35 points and seven triples in a 98-66 triumph of Michigan Tech.

Kuehl, a native of Iron Ridge, Wisconsin, earned a spot on the NABC All-District Second Team after he appeared All-GLIAC First Team and All-Defensive Team for the second straight season. He completed the regular season with 16.2 points/game, good for sixth in the conference. He also finished inside the top-10 with 188 made shots (2nd), 172 total rebounds (4th), and 29 blocks (5th). Kuehl also made over half of his shot attempts, going 50.5% from the floor.

Kuehl recorded four double-doubles on the season including a dominant 30-point, 10-rebound, and six block performance against Saginaw Valley State. He now has 11 career double-doubles. In the most recent GLIAC quarterfinal win over Purdue Northwest, he led NMU with 27 points. In his two seasons, Kuehl has already racked up 929 points, 416 rebounds, 119 assists, and 69 blocks over 65 games.

The two helped lead the Wildcats to a 22-11 record and 14-4 conference mark that saw the Wildcats earn the program's first regular season title since 1992-93 and make an NCAA Tournament appearance for the second consecutive season.
