MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN) — The Ramada Inn located in downtown Marquette is now under new ownership.

The announcement came from a spokesperson for H. J. Larson & Sons Tuesday morning. According to the company, ownership has been passed to an affiliate of the Marquette-based company Base Hospitality Group.

Harlan J. Larson built the Downtowner Hotel in 1961, and later built The Ramada Inn on the original site of the Downtowner.

“H.J. Larson & Sons is optimistic that the new owners will continue the tradition of quality hospitality that has been built over the past 63 years,” said the spokesperson.

    H. J. Larson & Sons will continue to operate two other local hotels, the Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn.

“H.J. Larson & Sons plans to continue as a valuable member of the Marquette Business Community supporting many civic groups and organizations, which they are proud to have been associated with in the past and look forward to working with them in the future,” said the spokesperson.
