View Marquette’s best gardens during 30th Annual Garden Tour

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN) – The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee will be hosting its 30th Annual Garden Tour next week.

This self-guided tour provides an opportunity for the community to view the colorful and timeless gardens in and around Marquette. The garden tour is the committee’s largest fundraiser, which helps support the committee’s five gardens and Petunia Pandemonium.

“We have people that come from all over we always do this the Thursday before Art on the Rocks,” said Jill LaMere, president of Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee. “So that crowd that’s coming in from everywhere will take advantage of just wandering around the city and doing just this. So, it’s just a wonderful place to just get out and see beautiful gardens and meet some lovely people. And we also like to just have people get an opportunity to see what other people have done in their gardens, whether they’re big or small. You can always have flowers everywhere. And so, it’s a good opportunity to get ideas as well.”

The 30th Annual Garden Tour is on Thursday, July 25 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Forsberg’s and Flower Works in Marquette, Nagelkirk’s in Harvey and All Seasons Floral in Ishpeming, and at garden stops the day of the tour. Tickets are $10. Children 12 and under are free. Participants will receive a map of the garden locations. For more information, you can visit mqtbeautification.org .
