NE State Patrol Heads To GOP Convention While Local Voices Condemn Violence
The Nebraska State Patrol is headed to the Republican National Convention to keep the public safe. Members of the state patrol will join more than 100 law enforcement agencies from around the country at the convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, through July 18th. Security has been increased following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Meanwhile, Nebraska officials are reacting to that shooting. Congressman Don Bacon noted that his thoughts and prayers are with Trump and those at the rally. Congressman Adrian Smith called the incident deeply troubling. The Nebraska Democratic Party released a statement noting that it condemns all political violence.

GI Home Federal Has A 4-0 Weekend To End Regular Season
(Kearney, NE) - The Grand Island Home Federal baseball team wrapped up the regular season this past weekend with a 4-0 mark. Home Federal first started off with a comeback 3-2 win over Millard South on Friday in Hastings. GI then returned to Duncan Field on Saturday and defeated Lincoln Northstar by a final score of 4-1. Game two Saturday was a 13-0 win over the Colorado Dirt Devils. Home Federal then was placed in a Sunday match-up with Millard North in Kearney at Memorial Field. GI picked up the win by a final score of 3-1. Home Federal is currently on a seven-game winning streak heading into the post-season with an overall record of 31-9. Nebraska adds Jamar Mozee as Senior Football Assistant
Nebraska football and head coach Matt Rhule made another addition to the coaching staff. Jamar Mozee joins the Huskers as a Senior Football Assistant. Mozee joins the Cornhuskers after spending the last nine seasons as the head coach of Lee’s Summit North High School. He left the program in February for an analyst role with Central Florida. While at Lee’s Summit North, he had an overall record of 64-35 but has gone 33-5 in the last three seasons. His son, Isaiah Mozee, is a four-star recruit in the class of 2025. Driver went 118 mph on northeast Nebraska highway to get Raising Cane’s, sheriff says

Seven Omaha business districts to get pandemic-related grants for safety lighting, bollards
OMAHA — Seven “business improvement districts” in the City of Omaha are to receive grants from the city’s allotment of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds.
