MILWAUKEE — Jordan King just keeps moving up the all-time leader list at Marquette.

The Hononegah graduate moved into sixth place on the all-time scoring list on Saturday with 11 points in an 86-60 rout of Xavier.

King now has 1,754 career points, passing Kristen Maskala, who had 1,745 points from 1991-94. She is the only player in program history to have over 1,700 career points and over 500 career assists.

She moved into ninth on the all-time 3-pointer list with 156.

King has 350 assists in conference games to rank top 10 in the history of the BIG EAST.

Perhaps most impressive, King has started in all 151 career games she has played in with the Golden Eagles to rank second all-time. She ranks sixth in the nation among active players.

    • ROCK VALLEY 30-0: Another Golden Eagles team is having a pretty good season.

Rock Valley College’s third-ranked women’s basketball team closed out the regular season with a pair of wins against South Suburban College 93-55 and Olive Harvey College 100-64 to improve to 30-0.

RVC’s roster includes Elli Teubert (Clinton), who is averaging 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists; Carly LaMay (Hononegah), who is averaging 3.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists and Bre’Nazjah Davis (Beloit Memorial), who is averaging 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds.

RVC will host the NJCAA Region 4 DII women’s basketball tournament over the next two weeks. Quarterfinals are Thursday at the highest seed, followed by the semifinals on March 2 and the finals on March 9, both at RVC.

    • FIRST WIN: Freshman pitcher Lexi Bach (Hononegah) collected her first collegiate victory on Sunday, allowing six hits and one earned run in Emory College’s 4-2 victory over Maryville (Tenn.)

Bach, a 6-foot right-hander, walked one and struck out one in pitching a complete game.

In two starts and 10.2 innings so far this season for Emory (4-2), Bach has posted a 2.63 earned run average.

    • SEVERN SALUTED: Dean Severn (Hononegah) was saluted recently at his college alma mater, Arkansas-Little Rock, as a member of the 1986-87 basketball team. The team was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.

The 1986-87 team won the TAAC Conference title and made a run to the NIT Final Four, finishing with 26 wins.

Severn was Beloit Daily News All-Area co-Player of the Year with South Beloit’s Peter Scalia in 1985.
