Multiple Agencies in Wild Chase, Apprehend Two Suspected in Armed Robbery, Shooting
A wild chase that began with an armed robbery and shooting in Omro ended in Fond du Lac with the arrests of two persons on Monday. Winnebago County and Omro Police were responding to the incident at about 7:15 p.m. Monday where they found a 65-year-old Omro man who advertised his car on Facebook Marketplace. He’d been shot when two persons answering the ad struggled over a firearm, prompting the suspects to flee south on I-41 toward Fond du Lac in a U-Haul truck.

A man and a woman are facing charges in Winnebago County for a shooting on Main Street in Omro Monday night. Omro Police with assistance from the County Sheriff’s Office responded for a disturbance with a weapon in the 300 block of East Main Street. The two suspects had fled in a vehicle prior to their arrival. The victim a 65-year-old Omro man had placed an ad on Facebook Marketplace to sell a car. The suspects; 45-year-old Omah Brown of Milwaukee and 27-year-old Shakierra Ray of Green Bay responded to the ad and an altercation ensued. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and there was a struggle for the firearm. The victim suffered a gunshot wound and other injuries. He was taken to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening. The suspects fled in their vehicle and were pursued. The chase ultimately ended with a wild chase in Fond du Lac County with them being taken into custody at gunpoint. Both are facing attempted first-degree intentional homicide, attempted robbery with use of force, motor vehicle theft, and other charges.
