NWS says Tuesday’s storms were a derecho
FORT WAYNE (ADAMS) – The Storm Prediction Center sayas it was a derecho blew across Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio early Tuesday morning. A derecho is a straight-line windstorm that occurs over a large area with wind gusts of at least 58 mph. The storm spawned several tornadoes along it’s leading edge including twisters at O’Hare and Midway airports in Chicago and in northern Indiana.
