A new era in Marshall County football has begun, as the Marshals are back to work under new head coach Nick Bloodworth. As of this past Tuesday, the Marshals have held five practices in the run-up to the new season, holding their first practice last Wednesday morning.

Paducah woman facing Marshall County drug charge
A Paducah woman is facing a drug charge following a traffic stop in Marshall County on Monday. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said a deputy stopped a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Connie Ham on US 62. During the stop a K-9 allegedy indicated to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
Crash in Marshall County claims life of Benton man
A Friday afternoon crash in Marshall County claimed the life of a Benton man. Marshall County Sheriff's deputies said the crash occurred along US 68 near Darnall Road. Witnesses told deputies that an SUV driven by 50-year-old Gedget Quigley of West Paducah crossed the center line and struck a car driven by 73-year-old Mikael Smith of Benton head-on. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner's Office. Quigley was flown to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
