Meet the Official: Larkin, loving what she does
Laura Larkin is the Marshall County Treasurer. She has worked for the Marshall County Treasurer's office since 1981 and has been the treasurer since 2012 Larkin, who was born in Northern California, has lived in Madill since her family moved to the county when she was 16 years old. Both of Larkin’s parents were raised in Madill and decided to return to the area after living in California for some time.

Animal at large, what does that exactly mean? An animal at large is any animal that is not under the control of the owner or member of his/her family or agent by means of a leash, cord, chain or otherwise restrained. It can also mean any animal that is running free off its owner’s premises and not under the control of a responsible adult.

First United bank is hosting a school supplies drive for the entire month of July. This drive will help students get the needed supplies to start their school year and set them up for success. The needed supplies are #2 pencils, black, blue and red ballpoint pens, colored pencils, yellow highlighters, crayons, black dry erase markers (both bullet and chisel tip), pencil sharpeners with covers, pencil boxes, glue, notebooks, wide-ruled notebook paper, copy paper, composition notebooks, 4x6 index cards, three-ring zipper binders, colored three-prong folders and three-ring zipper pencil pouches.
