Police seek man considered armed, dangerous

Police are asking for tips as they search for a man who is allegedly armed with a pistol and is considered dangerous.

Bartholomew Baumann, 35, is wanted on a felony warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Marshfield Police say they discovered Bauman’s 2014 Ford Fusion sedan at about 8 p.m. Saturday west of Stratford. Windows on the vehicle appeared to have been shot out with damage to the rear bumper.The Fusion carries a Wisconsin license plate ATE7428. Officials are urging caution and say not to approach the man but to call 911.

Online court records show a string of past crimes for Baumann, who was last convicted in March of battery or threat to judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer. He was given a withheld sentence and ordered to spend two years on probation. In 2023, he was also sentenced to probation after being convicted of multiple crimes, online court records show. Additionally, in 2018, he was convicted of false imprisonment and strangulation and spent two years in prison.

Baumann is approximately 5?7?’ and 180 lbs with dark hair. He has many tattoos.

Police say Baumann, who last listed a Beloit address, is likely on foot. No additional information has been released.
