Oilers Make Strategic Trades, Retain Broberg & Holloway
The Edmonton Oilers effectively countered the St. Louis Blues' offer sheets for Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway by executing strategic trades to maintain cap compliance. They acquired 23-year-old Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks for a fourth-round pick and traded Cody Ceci to the San Jose Sharks along with a third-rounder for Ty Emberson. This maneuvering allows the Oilers to retain both Broberg and Holloway while still addressing their cap space. As a result, they strengthened their roster by adding Podkolzin while deftly managing the cap constraints imposed by the Blues' proposals.
