The Education Foundation of Martin County recently received at $60,000 grant from HCA Healthcare Foundation, which will aim to increase health care career opportunities for local high school students. The grant will be distributed as a $20,000 award per year over three years.

The program is part of the statewide Career Pathways to a Healthier Florida initiative, which prepares students for in-demand roles through enhanced health care academy offerings. Projects funded by the grant include comprehensive curriculum materials, equipment and supplies aligned with health care industry certifications, vouchers to cover certification exam fees for underserved students, and teacher stipends for the coordination and implementation of student work-based learning experiences.
