Foundation awards more than $3,000 in grants

The Martin County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $3,020 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

$520 to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain for Formula for Impact for Martin County;$1,500 to Martin County Juneteenth Collective for heritage tours;$500 to North Carolina Symphony for Music Discovery for Martin County preschoolers; and$500 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics Martin County.

“These organizations make important contributions to the community,” said Chase Conner, advisory board president of the Martin County Community Foundation. “It’s only right that we show them our support.”

Funds for 2024 grants came from MCCF’s community grantmaking fund. Each year, MCCF’s local volunteer advisory board uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

Advisory board members live and work in Martin County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities.
