Back to School Extravaganza: Help us fill school backpacks!
The New Jersey State Museum is participating in Trenton Public School’s Back to School Extravaganza on August 30. During this event, partners will provide on the spot health services, community resources and backpacks filled with new school supplies. In advance of the event, the school district is holding a school supply drive in to fill the backpacks that will be distributed.
TE Ben Rothhaar flips commitment to Rutgers
Rutgers landed another commitment in the class of 2025 today when Ben Rothhaar of Norwalk (Ohio) announced his plans to join the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder was previously committed to Kent State but has flipped to Rutgers. Rothhaar becomes the 30th commitment to the Rutgers 2025 class as he joined the program on a day when the staff was hosting an unofficial visitor barbecue for members of the class of 2026. The class of 2025 commits are expected to be on campus tomorrow.

Mayor W. Reed Gusciora recently announced the appointment of Maria Richardson as the Interim Business Administrator, following the departure of Adam E. Cruz, who has accepted the B.A. position in Dover Township, NJ. Cruz served the City of Trenton with distinction for five years and seven months, contributing significantly to the city’s growth and development.
Summer Youth Basketball Camp Coming to Elizabeth
ELIZABETH, NJ - The Mayor J. Christian Bollwage Summer Youth Basketball Camp is making its return to the City of Elizabeth. The camp is open to male and female basketball players ages 7-15 and is directed by Elizabeth Boys Basketball Head Coach Phil Colicchio. NYPD: Man, 62, sent to hospital after attack near Clove Rd. on Staten Island
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 62-year-old man lost a tooth and was sent to the hospital after an attack in Sunnyside, police said. The victim was set upon by two unknown males on Howard Avenue near Clove Road around 6:20 p.m. on July 15, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD.
