Be sure you have your umbrella and First Alert Weather App handy today as showers and thunderstorms will be possible today! A weak summer cold front is expected to push into our northern counties today and will could stall out just north of areas like Crockett, Lufkin, and Jasper. Temperatures ahead of our cold front will likely still be able to climb into the 90s so be prepared for another toasty afternoon. A few showers and storms will be possible this morning for areas north of I-20, but greater coverage of scattered showers/storms is expected this afternoon, evening, and tonight. Severe weather is not likely, but some heavy downpours, gusty winds, and even small hail could be possible at times. Our summer cold front is expected to stall out across Deep East Texas Friday night/Saturday morning and will slowly crawl back north for the remainder of the weekend which should keep scattered rain chances in the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday along with highs near 90°! Mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain chances are expected to continue into next week which should keep our PM temps below average with some only warming into the upper 80s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Not too shabby!
