MARTINSVILLE, Va. ( WFXR )– The Virginia Natural History Museum gave guests a blast from the past during its annual Dino Fest.

Dino Fest provided visitors the ability to see an extraordinary variety of life-sized dinosaur cast skeletons and fossils with the chance to participate in dinosaur-themed activities. Paleontologists were on head showcasing the fossils and talking to families throughout the day, giving inside into a time when dinosaurs once ruled the world.

“I know a bunch of different species and types of dinosaurs,” said dinosaur lover and museum guest Pierce. “I’ve loved them since I was two.”

Although Saturday was the last day of the event, the museum is home to an extensive dinosaur exhibit. It hosts a skeletal replica of one of the most famous dinosaurs ever found, ‘Big Al,’ the Allosaurus.

The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
