I recently had the pleasure of dining at Le Comptoir du Vin and it was an experience to remember. The restaurant's unique decor and chill waitstaff set the tone for a delightful evening. The red wine chicken liver sauce spread on crispy biscuits was a standout, as was the Lamb Curry. The meal wine recommended to me was a perfect pairing, and the cute pattern on the wine glass was a charming touch.
The group table in the front window was a cozy spot for a gathering with friends. We shared several dishes including the chicken liver pate, crab dip, sourdough bread, and half chicken with kale salad and potatoes. Each dish was a flavor explosion, confirming that their menu, which changes weekly, is worth exploring. The cocktails and wine were top-notch, and the service was excellent.
The restaurant is a bit on the small side, but it adds to the intimate atmosphere. The duck rillettes and raw scallops were pleasant, with the scallops needing just a touch more acid to brighten the bites. The pot pie was good, and the octopus on focaccia was phenomenal. We split the bread open and savored each bite slowly. The ox tongue and lentils, plus the rapini and chickpea, were also enjoyable. And the pots de creme for dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. I can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings. This place is perfect for dates and gatherings with friends, and I rate it an 8/10.
