Dirtbike rider charged with impersonating officer

On Sept. 21, at approximately 4:05 p.m., an officer was traveling southbound on Route 925 when they observed a man operating a green dirtbike with no registration.

Upon initiating a traffic stop in the area of Leonardtown Road and Route 925, the dirtbike rider, later identified as McKinley Johnathan Williams, 32, of Waldorf, allegedly continued approximately 100 to 500 feet, stopped and then proceeded to drive off at low speeds when the officer opened the door to their cruiser, charging documents say.

Officers caught up with Williams at a Checkers, where an off-duty Maryland State Police Officer blocked Williams’ way out of the lot.

Williams was detained and allegedly told officers that he was a lieutenant with “P.G. County,” according to charging documents.

Officers asked Williams for his police credentials and if he was armed, and Williams allegedly replied that he did not have his credentials and he was not armed, the documents say. It was noted by officers that Williams was not familiar with basic and common police procedures.

When repeatedly asked by officers about his supervisor and who he reports to, Williams allegedly admitted that he was not law enforcement affiliated, the documents say.

Williams was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer, driving a vehicle on a highway without a required license and authorization, failing to attach registration plates, failing to display a registration card on demand, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and knowingly driving an uninsured vehicle.

Woman arrested after allegedly assaulting her children

Officers responded to a residence on Shiloh Church Road in Newburg on Sept. 21 for the report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Desiree Raquel Scott, 36, at the front door of the house. Officers asked what happened to Scott’s children, to which Scott allegedly replied that she hit her kids, but she would not elaborate as to why, charging documents say.

Scott allegedly stopped answering questions and refused to tell officers the names of her children. The children were next door, and officers learned that Scott was mad because her son and daughter were fighting, the documents say. Both of the children are 8 years old.

According to the son, Scott allegedly chased the son to his room, punched him in the head and stomach more than once, hit his left upper arm with an air dryer, hit his right upper arm with a shoe and hit him on the head with a bubble stick, the documents say. The hit to the head caused a visible bump to form.

The daughter stated that Scott allegedly grabbed her hair and pulled two braids out and punched her in the right collarbone. Officers found the missing hair in the living room of the house, according to charging documents.

Officers arrested Scott after she tried to lock herself in a bathroom and charged her with second-degree assault on law enforcement, second-degree child abuse, second-degree assault and resisting arrest.

    Woman with knife arrested

On Sept. 24 8:26 p.m., officers responded to the area of a parking lot on October Place in Waldorf for the report of a woman wearing a neon yellow shirt who allegedly had a knife and was acting “irate.”

In the parking lot, officers observed a red fuel canister and an open paint can with gray, wet paint all over the parking lot. While investigating the scene, officers heard yelling and arguing coming from an apartment in the area, charging documents say.

When officers approached the sliding glass door of that unit they observed a woman, later identified as Chiquita Renee Alexander, 41, of Waldorf, charging documents say. Charging documents say that Alexander, in a yellow shirt, was acting in a “distraught and angry manner” while “yelling and screaming very loudly.”

She came to the door and spoke with the officers, saying she allegedly got in an argument with her ex-girlfriend, according to the documents. Alexander allegedly said she had grabbed a “butter knife” and threatened her ex-girlfriend with it.

A witness to the incident stated that she saw Alexander and her ex-girlfriend arguing outside of the apartment in the parking lot, where they were throwing a paint can and a gas can. It was reported that Alexander threw the paint can, charging documents say.

The witness said that the blade allegedly used by Alexander was more akin to a “butcher’s knife.” According to the witness’s statement, Alexander went outside and the witness heard the ex-girlfriend state, “What’s the point, you’ve already stabbed me” before the ex-girlfriend got in her car and drove away.

Officers spoke to the ex-girlfriend who said that Alexander had allegedly struck her with the knife. The sweater the ex-girlfriend was wearing had a cut in it and her chest had an injury consistent with the size and strike of a knife, the charging documents say.

Alexander is charged with first- and second-degree assault as well as destruction of property.
