An endangered tree kangaroo has been born at the Bronx Zoo
A rare tree kangaroo has finally made its celebrity appearance!. A little joey was born at the end of December at the Bronx Zoo, but has been in the pouch period until now. This week, we’re finally getting our first glimpse of it, and while any newborn animal would be a cause for celebration, this is an extra special event because it is only the second of its species to be born at the Bronx Zoo and to this particular female kangaroo since 2021.

Onondaga County will dump raw sewage into Ley Creek for days to fix leaking line
Syracuse, N.Y. -- Onondaga County will discharge raw sewage into Bear Trap and Ley creeks for up to a week as it repairs a leaking high-pressure sewer line. Work on what’s called the Ley Creek force main pipe will begin Monday. The 42-inch-diameter pipe has been leaking since June 6 where it crosses Onondaga Creek, just a few hundred feet from where the creek empties into Onondaga Lake. The line runs alongside the CSX Railroad bridge over the creek.
