Scattered rain chances lead to clear weekend in Maryland 02:48

BALTIMORE-- Scattered storms will develop late this evening through the overnight. Some storms will have heavy downpours.

After a warm and muggy day, were looking at the chance of rain returning to the area later this evening into tonight. Some of the scattered showers & storms will contain heavy downpours. While most places will see a quarter to half inch of rain, some areas will see locally higher amounts where storms take place.

Look for low temperatures in the mid-70s with plenty of humidity tonight.

Scattered showers and storms are possible again Wednesday and Thursday with a stationary front draped across the area. The best chance of showers appears to be Wednesday morning and again Thursday afternoon and evening. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s both afternoons with plenty of humidity. Thursday has the greater risk for showers and storms. All of this rain is much needed with the ongoing drought situation.

A stronger cold front will cross the area Thursday evening and night. This will be a gamechanger with our weather for Friday into the weekend. Expect a push of low humidity and dry weather to arrive Friday and continue through the entire weekend. Highs on Friday will reach the upper 80s. Highs over the weekend will top out in the lower 90s.

Heat and humidity will continue to build early next week. Isolated storms will be possible late Monday, especially well west of Baltimore. Scattered storms will be possible Tuesday afternoon with highs in the lower 90s.
