In her sixth successful ride, Jeanette Mero can finally claim the most coveted title in endurance riding: the Tevis Cup. The Mariposa, CA native completed her 100-mile journey to Auburn's McCann Stadium at 10:05 p.m. Saturday night to win the 68th Tevis Cup, finishing with a final time of 17 hours and five minutes. Auburn Grace Community Church Jr. Sewers & Rippers effort yields 118 quilts
During the months of May and June, 61 boys and girls made 118 quilts in two week-long sessions at Auburn Grace Community Church. Jr. Sewers & Rippers has occurred every year since its beginning in 2004 – a project of the Sewers & Rippers Ministry at Auburn Grace Community Church – mentoring children entering third grade up to graduating high school seniors. The Sewers and Rippers Ministry is a nearly 20-year-old ministry that sends quilts to children and adults in need all over the world and within our community.
