Blount County Sheriff James L. Berrong and Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp are this year’s Blount County Good Scout Award recipients. They are being honored by the Cades Cove District of the Great Smoky Mountain Council on at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Alcoa High School. An RSVP is required.

Lifelong friends and longtime cohorts, Chief Crisp and Sheriff Berrong have been a model on how a police department and sheriff’s agency support each other, said a press release from the Great Smoky Mountain Council.

“Together they have helped keep Blount County safe for decades and made it a great place to live and raise a family. They have both consistently been a positive influence on Blount County,” the release stated.

To RSVP for the dinner, during which donations will be accepted to support scouting in Blount County, contact Geoff Cusick, Cades Cove District Director at 865-324-4608 or email Geoff.Cusick@scouting.org no later than Friday, April 12.
