Magician Ben Pratt Returns To The Park Theatre This Month
When a magician makes a mark on an audience, they never forget it. Comedy illusionist Ben Pratt has done that with Jaffrey's performing arts center, The Park Theatre. Ben returns to The Park for an unprecedented fourth time. Ben brings his illusions, magic, comedy, and assistant Emily to their 333-seat Eppes Auditorium. It all happens Friday, August 16 at 7:30pm.

Man awaiting trial ditches ankle monitor at Laconia hospital
LACONIA — A man who was being monitored via an ankle device is being sought by the U.S. Marshals Service after he removed the monitor while in the city sometime on Sunday. Anthony Clark, 41, who is 5'7" and weighs 230 pounds, was released on an ankle monitor from Belknap County Jail to receive medical care at Concord Hospital-Laconia, and slipped out of view of local law enforcement sometime on Sunday morning, when he apparently removed the monitoring device.

Before Sanborn’s casino, developers looked to put housing on East Concord site
With the need for housing dire, Concord is expected to see a new casino built on land that was once eyed for a multifamily development. The Flatley Company folded on talks for a project in East Concord in 2021 in favor of a different opportunity downtown. Since then, the 13-acre plot gained Planning Board approval to be former state Sen. Andy Sanborn’s next casino.
5 potential buyers submit offers for State School property
Five interested parties have offered to buy the former Laconia State School property, but it will take some time before anything is publicly known about those offers. That’s what Charlie Arlinghaus, commissioner of the state’s Department of Administrative Services, told Gov. Chris Sununu and the Executive Council at a meeting held Wednesday morning.
