MASON, WV (WOWK) – Some big changes are coming to the town of Mason in Mason County, West Virginia.

The town of Mason has new renderings for an outdoor facility off Horton and 2nd Street, behind the Senior Center.

The current building standing there, which was purchased by the city, is dilapidated and is set to be demolished on Monday.

The new building will be an outdoor recreational facility, complete with a splash pad and pickleball courts.

“The splash pad was an idea that started before I was in office. Those plans have changed over time. This came from people just wanting to get involved and better the community,” says Mayor Kristopher Clark

Clark says that they are hoping to complete the construction process by the fall of next year, once funds are allocated. Mason needs at least $200,000 more in addition to the $50,000 they have already raised for the project.

The town is looking to see significant economic growth from the project that will help its public services.
