Scattered rain and storms linger throughout the week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Over the course of Monday morning, rain began to spread from the southwest of our area to the northeast-- and thus begins a week of active weather, one West Virginia desperately needs. While we won’t see much rain overnight tonight, heavier showers are expected to return Tuesday morning. Throughout the day Tuesday, the chance for scattered showers and storms will persist, and while the rain is welcome, heavy downpours in any poor drainage area could mean minor high water issues. Overnight, rain will taper off again, and for the remainder of the week, activity should be just diurnal, meaning in the afternoon and early evening hours rather than mornings and overnights. While there will be periods of no rain, and perhaps even sunshine, any showers that pop up are likely to be heavy.
