(Atlantic) Thousands of bicycle enthusiasts hailing from coast to coast and abroad are traveling across Iowa for RAGBRAI 2024. The trip started in Glenwood on Sunday, spent Sunday night in Red Oak, and headed out on Monday morning through Elliott, Griswold, and Lewis for an overnight stay in Atlantic. Creighton University's Rural Mainstreet Index report sank below growth neutral for the 11th straight month. Police identify suspect in weekend standoff incident
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Rapids Police have identified the man charged in relation to a standoff incident that occurred Saturday evening. Police say officers had attempted to make a traffic stop around 6:12 pm, when the driver refused to stop and instead eluded officials, driving in excess of 100 mph in a 30 mph zone. The suspect eventually ran into a home on Rogers Rd NW and barricaded himself inside. The standoff ended at approximately 10:05 pm.
