    Sunscreen Recalled In Massachusetts Poses Risk Of 'Fungal Skin Infection'

    Suntegrity Skincare voluntarily recalled nine lots of Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation in multiple shades on Tuesday (June 11) due to "a higher than acceptable microbiological mold count." According to the United States Food & Drug Administration , Lot 115BU of Suntegrity's Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation should be utilized with "an abundance of caution" as the contents of the product are under investigation.

    The company also decided to recall lots 107IV, 107NU, 109NU, 117BU, 113SA, 114SA, 106BR, and 101MO (despite test results coming back clear) just to be safe.

    Affected shades of Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Sunscreen Foundation include Ivory, Nude, Buff, Sand, Bronze, and Mocha with the following UPC codes: 854245006170, 854245006224, 854245006224, 854245006187, 854245006194, 854245006194, 854245006217, and 854245006446.

    Consumers can check the back of the product (sold in 2oz orange tubes) for the lot number to be sure they are not lathering "Aspergillus Sydowii" on their skin as this could cause fungal infections or an allergic reaction . Individuals with compromised immune systems might experience more series side effects and "should be treated medically."

    The aforementioned products were sold online and at retail stores nationwide ( including Massachusetts ).
