Notre Dame baseball adds Lucas Jones to its coaching staff
During his first two seasons with Notre Dame baseball, Shawn Stiffler has led the Irish to a 57-49 record. He knows this isn’t good enough for the program and with that made a move on Thursday to bolster his coaching staff. Lucas Jones was hired as an assistant coach as he will help on the infield along with base-running. Jones previously was at the University of Lynchburg, where he had been the head coach since 2017. He was extremely successful in his tenure, as he was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2021. In 2023, Jones guided his team to a National Championship. Red-tailed hawk to be released at Smith Park on the Roanoke River Greenway on Friday
ROANOKE, Va. – The Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center has just announced it will be releasing a red-tailed hawk into the wild at the Roanoke River Greenway. The hawk was taken in by the wildlife center in May as a fledgling. Attempts to find the parents failed, so it was taken care of up to this point. The cost was estimated to be around $2,000 since he was taken in, which the center claims is the norm.
