Local author shares poetry from debut collection
Local author Hillary Hall recently shared excerpts from her debut poetry collection, "Creation from Chaos," during a reading event at The Y'allternative Art Spot on July 19. Hall, who also serves as a music teacher for grades K-8 and band at Gilbert, said she was motivated to compile the poems into a book because she has written so many.
Bridge in Braxton County is expected to be closed for 30 days for repairs
BRAXTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A bridge in Braxton County is expected to be closed for 30 days beginning Monday as repairs are made. According to the Burnsville Lake, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the bridge is located near the Motel 79 in the area and all traffic will be rerouted via Circle Drive.

WAVERLY, Ohio – The Waverly Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team has been dispatched to Lake White following a report of a watercraft collision on the water. According to a statement from the Fire Department, the Water Rescue Team is actively operating at the scene. The public is advised to avoid the area, both on shore and in the water.

Woman dies after injuries suffered in West Virginia coalmine
CHARLESTON, West Virginia: A West Virginia woman, Ashley Cogar, tragically passed away on July 24, more than a week after suffering injuries in a coal mining accident. The incident occurred at the Wyco Surface Mine, located near the border of Raleigh and Wyoming counties. She was 33 years old and resided in Erbacon, West Virginia.
