WA Auditor’s Report Raises Concerns over WSDA Egg Inspections
According to a report from the WA State Auditor, the Washington State Department of Agriculture is lagging badly in its legally-mandated egg inspection program. By law, WSDA must inspect egg production facilities once a year, and visit egg packing facilities every quarter. Production facilities are where the eggs are laid by the chickens and then gathered and transported to packing plants.
FIRE REPORT: Fires burn over two million acres nationwide
Jul. 30—MOSES LAKE — As of Monday morning, there are 102 large active wildfires being managed nationwide, burning an estimated two million acres according to the National Interagency Fire Center. Pasco Aquatic Center gets a “wow factor”
PASCO, Wash. – The new $37.4 million Pasco Aquatic Center is approved and is now in the design and construction phase. “We expect groundbreaking to happen later this fall and in probably November or December time frame,” Executive Director of Pasco Public Facilities District Matt Watkins said. “We’re expecting to hopefully open it in April of 2026. So it’s a fairly aggressive time from groundbreaking to actual opening the facility in a little over a year.”
