MATTESON, Ill. — A woman was wounded in a shooting that was “likely in retaliation” for a fight that happened earlier at the Amazon fulfillment center in Matteson, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the facility located at 7001 Vollmer Road. Upon arrival, police discovered a 33-year-old woman with a graze wound to her head.

She was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, according to police. Medical staff anticipated her release Monday.

Police said preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting was likely in retaliation for fight that occurred in the parking lot earlier that night amongst employees.
